A little about me... My name is Kendra Watkins and my true passion is DIY, I love anything crafty.
I have two dogs, or as I prefer to call them, puppies! Baron is my 1 1/2 year old Boxer and Dandelion is my 5 1/2 year old Rat Terrier, talk about dogs with completely different personalities. Baron is super laid back, and loves to play. Dandelion, or Dandy for short, is very uptight, a prim and proper little lady, who would never or could never do anything wrong. And you probably would not guess… but I named my Blog after them.
My blog is just for fun, I want to inspire others to have fun and craft. I know very little about Blogs or anything in this sort, so please stick with me J
Currently I am working on my Masters of Business Administration and working full time for a private college. I really started picking up scrapbooking a few years ago, mainly to relax and help me distress… My life has been a roller-coaster since 2007, but now things have begun to slow down.
Here is my roller-coaster life time line:
·
December 2007 – Graduated with
my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree from University of
Wisconsin – Platteville (I grew up in Wisconsin)
·
October 2008 – Moved to
Illinois where my now husband, then boyfriend, was placed for work as an Air
Traffic Controller.
·
October 2008 – Hired at
Staffing Now.
·
May 2009 – My Dad was diagnosed
with Lung Cancer.
·
December 2009 – My Dad was in
remission
·
January 2010 – Laid off from Staffing
Now, we lost an account, a company we primarily hired for.
·
April 2010 – Hired at
Rasmussen College.
·
April 2010 – My Dad’s cancer
came back.
·
June 2010 – My boyfriend got
permission from my dad to marry me, and he proposed.
·
October 2010 – Lost my Dad to
lung cancer.
·
February 2011 – Accepted in the
MBA program and the University of Saint Mary’s.
·
March 2011 – Bought and moved
into our very first home.
·
May 2011 – Married my best
friend, without my dad to walk me down the aisle.
·
June 2011 – Started my MBA.
·
February 2012 – Lost my uncle to
cancer.
·
November 2012 – I lost my Grandma
who was 98 years old.
All of these things listed above happened for a reason, and I would not be the person I am today, if these things did not change my life. God only gives us the things that he knows we can handle, and he knows that I can handle quite a bit. I am strong and I have learned to push through.
September 29, 2013 - Adding on. Since I posted this... I graduated with my masters in June 2013. Yay! What an accomplishement.
So after that is all said, I started picking up more on scrapbooking and other activities to help de-stress, and that is why I am here today! J
